All four now have the opportunity to be selected to represent the UK in an international WorldSkills final to be held either in Canada next year or London in 2011.

Kyla, 19 said: "I can't believe that I have won. We had to design a poster for a new film and also packaging for children's food, it was great."

George, 19, added: "I feel really proud of myself. We are in our first year of the course and I feel I learnt new skills from being in the competition. I can't wait to go to Canada."

Rob Badcock, Principal of MK College said: "This is a major achievement for the college. To beat the cream of the crop from across the UK really shows the high level of skills that our students are working to. We are delighted."

WorldSkills takes place every two years and sees almost a thousand young people from 52 countries compete it a variety of skills from IT networking, engineering and design to welding, landscaping, hospitality and hairdressing.
